Grasshoppers of Reason

Grasshoppers of Reason

When I look about I see so much, too much, I can’t consume it all; especially when I see others pain others—thus, I wonder if we are the great creatures of reason we are suppose to be, think we are, were told we were, or perhaps lower than the insects in comparison—hard to say, by empirical data, it is easy to see though, we think a lot of ourselves.

Man was of course, an idea of God’s, a fleeting idea at best—I would think—in a mass of other ideas He had while creating the universe, the one that surrounds us, where earth is simply a blue dot in distance among many, many other dots. And if there are other planets with a living species on it, that reason, they would perhaps pay little attention to find out if we were worth the effort to go the distance to see us; if indeed they could predict our behavior, for this reason, we are perhaps a kind of dirt like mole, or perhaps parasite to them, in a smoggy garden, a nest that was once healthy, but now to the contrary.

In Consequence, I became verly estranged thinking this, who could console me on this matter? Withal creatuares of reason, was I just a moment, a clap of an eye, a puff of smoke, among them, a ‘dash,’ or a ‘comma’ in the whole spectrum of thoughts of a great plan—written out long, long ago? Could this really be? (I asked myself). I, like everyone else, wanted to be more, much more. Perhaps that is why we eliminate God from the picture, and beome little gods ourselves. Hence, perhaps it is best to accept the fact (I have), God is God, and we, yes the big ‘we’, are just grasshoppers, in a little garden in the middle of nowhere.
