The Log and Slack
The Log went down the river
and there I saw Slack, he remained behind;
but it was effort that pushed Log along
as it was inertia that held Slack back.
The Log pushed on, even with the undertow,
Slack, waited for an accident to happen,
one that never showed.
The Log and Slack, rested and relaxed
each on the opposite ends of the river,
but it was only Log who conquered death,
through reproduction, leaving something
behind; Slack, decayed, left nothing back!...

Soul of a Nation
When the soul of a nation is tired,
so you can see it in its agriculture.
I see this as plain as the nose
on my face, in buildings and even
in cars— throughout America,
build in the 1960s and ‘70s…;
go to Havana, it is all pre-1959
and beautiful…

Atoms Everywhere
Atoms
space
and law,
we all crawl
down this highway
under the umbrella
of evolution,
only to find,
dissolution
everywhere

On the Edge
We think nowadays
or at least I think we think,
it is not conceivable to think,
that it is not possible to live with
apathy, or indifference, or coldness.
Especially when pleasure is at
everyone’s finger tips.
Thus, pleasure (which is not
by all means, happiness)
is the only legitimate end in life;
and, a conceivable action—;
let me add to that
self interests.
In the end, the soul seeks
tranquility (believe it or not),
not coldness, nor pleasure,
tranquility, I say, and I say
it for a good reason,
the mind must rest,
the soul knows this…
and thus one ends up
on the narrow edge of apathy
and tranquility; hence,
the soul remains disturbed,
until you pick one,
and if you pick the
wrong one, there is
no peace.
#2157 1-17-2008 Note: I say to those, who have a disturbing life, do your soul a favor, if not your friends, loved ones and self, go find tranquility, do what you must to find it, you will put on an extra 7-years of life to your existence (forget the cost, just do it).
